Here at LEGO Discovery Centre Hamburg we have a dedicated children’s charity, that works to support Merlin attractions all over the world.
Called Merlin’s Magic Wand, they provide magical experiences for children who need them most, and they do this through three magical programmes. Learn more about their important work and see if you can support their mission or apply for magic below.
Magical Days Out
Often, children who are facing challenging circumstances are unable to visit the Merlin attractions that they love, so Merlin’s Magic Wand was created to support them. Magical Days Out offer a single gifted day out to children who meet a wide beneficiary list. In 2023 alone, Merlin’s Magic Wand gifted over 80,000 Magical Days Out tickets to these children. Magic On Tour
Where children are unable to get to an attraction, volunteers from across the business take the magic of Merlin attractions directly to them, through in person and online experiences. With attraction colleagues from any attraction able to use a Merlin Volunteer Day to support this, we’ve seen unique and fun activities for children happen in hospital wards, hospices, special educational needs schools, and so much more. Magic Spaces
In places where children are having to spend a lot of time such as hospitals, treatments centres, orphanages, special schools, or medical environments, Merlin’s Magic Wand works with Merlin creative teams and attractions to redesign and create permanent magical themed spaces, interactive and joy filled rooms for children to enjoy.
